What is LangGuess?

LangGuess is a language guessing game. Listen to a short clip and guess the language, recognise a language from a written sentence, or find where a language is spoken on the world map. There is a new daily challenge every day.

Do I need an account or an internet connection?

No account is needed, and your progress is saved on your device. The games work offline with content built into the app; ads and purchases need an internet connection.

How much does LangGuess cost?

LangGuess is free to play with ads. The optional Ad-free upgrade removes all ads and unlocks unlimited hints. It is available as a weekly or monthly subscription, or as a one-time Lifetime purchase. Current prices are shown in the app before you buy.

How do I cancel my subscription?

In the app: open Settings → Manage subscription. Or on iPhone: open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → LangGuess → Cancel Subscription.
Android: open the Google Play Store → your profile icon → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → LangGuess → Cancel.
Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

How do I get a refund?

Payments are handled by Apple and Google, so refunds are requested through them. On iPhone, go to reportaproblem.apple.com. On Android, follow Google Play's refund instructions in the Play Store. If you have trouble, email us and we'll help.

I bought Ad-free but I still see ads.

Tap Restore Purchases on the Go Ad-free screen or in Settings, making sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID or Google account you used to buy Ad-free. If ads still show, email us with the approximate date of purchase.

How do I change my ad privacy choices?

Where it applies, go to Settings → Ad privacy choices in the app. You can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

How do I reset my stats or delete my data?

LangGuess has no accounts: your scores, streaks and settings are stored only on your device. Use Settings → Reset all progress to erase them, or delete the app to remove everything.

A clip, sentence or language fact looks wrong.

Email us with the language and what you saw, and we'll look into it. Clips and sentences come from open datasets, credited in the app under Settings → Data Sources & Licenses.
