LangGuess Privacy Policy

Effective October 12, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information LangGuess (the "App") uses, why, and the choices you have. The App is published by Deox, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("we", "us"). We built the App to work without accounts: your game progress stays on your device.

The short version

  • No account, no sign-in, no email address, no contacts, no photos, no precise location, and no microphone access.

  • Your scores, streaks, statistics and settings are stored only on your device. We do not receive them.

  • If you use the free version, Google AdMob shows ads and processes some device and usage data to do so. Where the law requires it, you are asked for consent first and can change your choice at any time.

  • If you buy Ad-free (a subscription or Lifetime), Apple or Google processes the payment, and RevenueCat confirms your purchase using an anonymous ID. We never see your payment details.

  • We do not sell your personal information.

1. Information stored on your device

To run the game, the App saves the following on your device only: your scores, statistics, rank and streak; your recent game history and daily-challenge progress; recently seen questions (so they are not repeated); your settings (theme, sound, vibration, autoplay, daily reminder on/off and time); whether you have seen the introduction; and a cached copy of your subscription status.

Daily reminders (optional, off unless you turn them on and allow notifications) are scheduled locally on your device by the App. They are not sent from a server, and no notification token or other information is sent to us or anyone else. You can turn them off in Settings → Reminders or in your device settings.

This information is not sent to us or to anyone else. You can erase your statistics at any time in Settings → Reset all progress, and all of it is removed when you delete the App.

2. Information we do not collect

We do not ask for or collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, photos, precise location or any account credentials. The App never records audio: it only plays the bundled sound clips, and microphone access is disabled.

3. Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads provided by Google AdMob: optional rewarded ads (watched to unlock a hint) and full-screen ads between rounds. Ad-free users see no ads.

To deliver, measure and protect ads, Google may collect and process: device identifiers (such as the Android advertising ID, or on iOS an app-specific vendor identifier; the App does not ask for permission to track you, so Google does not receive your iOS advertising identifier), your IP address and the approximate location derived from it, device and app information (model, operating system, language, app version), ad interactions (for example impressions and taps), and diagnostic information about ad performance and crashes.

Personalized ads: in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, and in US states whose laws require it, Google’s consent tool asks for your choices before ads are requested. If you do not consent to personalization, you may still see non-personalized ads, which use limited data for purposes such as frequency capping, fraud prevention and measurement. You can change your choice at any time in Settings → Ad privacy choices (shown where it applies), and you can reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Google processes this data under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. How Google uses information from apps that use its services: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

4. Purchases (Apple, Google and RevenueCat)

Purchases of Ad-free (subscriptions and Lifetime) are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play) under their own terms and privacy policies. We never receive your card or bank details.

We use RevenueCat, Inc. to verify purchases and manage your Ad-free status. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID generated on your device, your purchase and receipt information (product, price, currency, dates, renewal status), and basic device and app information. It does not receive your name or email address from us. RevenueCat’s privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy.

5. Sharing your results

When you tap "Share my result", the App creates an image of your result card on your device and opens your device’s share sheet. Nothing is shared unless you choose an app or contact to share it with. The "Top X%" figures on the card are estimates calculated on your device (see the Terms of Use).

6. Analytics

This version of the App does not use third-party analytics or crash-reporting services. If that changes, we will update this policy and the store privacy information before the change takes effect.

7. Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)

Where the GDPR or similar laws apply: data used for personalized advertising is processed on the basis of your consent; data needed to show non-personalized ads, prevent fraud and keep the App working is processed on the basis of legitimate interests in offering a free, ad-supported game; and purchase data is processed to perform our contract with you (providing Ad-free).

8. Your rights and choices

  • Ad choices: Settings → Ad privacy choices (where applicable), and your device’s advertising settings.

  • Your game data: Settings → Reset all progress, or delete the App.

  • Subscription data: manage or cancel in your App Store or Google Play account, or from Settings → Manage subscription.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or port personal data, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent, and to complain to your data protection authority. Because we do not keep your data on our own servers, we usually cannot identify you; for data held by Google or RevenueCat you can use their tools, or contact us at founder@deox.app and we will help.

California and other US state privacy laws: we do not sell personal information for money. Personalized advertising through AdMob may count as "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under some state laws; you can opt out through Settings → Ad privacy choices where it applies, or by turning off ad personalization or deleting your advertising ID in your device settings. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your rights.

9. Children

The App is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, contact us at founder@deox.app and we will take appropriate steps. Ads are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences with parental guidance.

10. International transfers and retention

Google and RevenueCat may process data in the United States and other countries, using safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses. Data on your device is kept until you reset it or delete the App. Data processed by Google and RevenueCat is kept according to their policies.

11. Security

Data sent by the App to ad and purchase services is encrypted in transit (HTTPS). No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we keep the data the App uses to a minimum.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy, for example when the App gains new features. We will change the effective date above and, for material changes, tell you in the App or the store listing.
