Bibler Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and Deox, Inc., a Delaware corporation ("DEOX", "we", "us"), and govern your use of the Bibler mobile app ("Bibler" or the "App"). By downloading or using Bibler you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Your license to use Bibler

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use Bibler for your own personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control, in line with these Terms and the rules of the app store you downloaded it from. You must be at least 13 years old, or the minimum age required in your country, to use Bibler.

2. No account needed

Bibler has no accounts and no sign-in. Your journal, notes and progress are stored only on your device, so keeping your device secure and backed up is up to you. You can erase everything Bibler keeps on your device at any time in the App (Me → Settings → Erase all my data).

3. Bibler Pro

Plans: full access to Bibler requires Bibler Pro, offered as a weekly or monthly subscription. Current prices are shown in the App before you buy (in the US: $4.99 per week or $9.99 per month) and may vary by country and include applicable taxes.

Payment: payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase.

Automatic renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the same price and for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account is charged for the renewal within the 24 hours before the current period ends.

Cancelling: you can cancel anytime in your Apple ID settings or the Google Play Store, or from Me → Subscription in Bibler. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period, and you keep access until then. Erasing your data or deleting the App does not cancel your subscription.

Free trials: if a free trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends. Any unused part of a trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription.

Special offers: we may sometimes offer a discount. An offer applies only to the plan, price and number of billing periods shown when you accept it. After that, your subscription renews at the regular price unless you cancel. Each offer can be used once and can't be combined with other offers.

Price changes: if we change subscription prices, Apple or Google will notify you in advance as their rules require, and where required you will be asked to agree before the new price applies.

Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple or Google and are subject to their refund policies. To request a refund, contact Apple (reportaproblem.apple.com) or Google Play. We cannot issue refunds directly.

Restoring: you can restore Bibler Pro on a new device by tapping Restore purchases (or “I already have an account” on the welcome screen), using the same Apple ID or Google account you subscribed with.

4. Bible text and content

Bible text in Bibler is based on the World English Bible, which is in the public domain. We have adapted it, for example by rendering the divine name as "God" or "the Lord", and it is labelled "Adapted WEB" in the App. Lessons, journeys, devotional notes, quizzes, scenarios and other content are written by DEOX to support personal Bible study and reflection. We work to make them accurate and faithful to Scripture, but they reflect our editorial choices and may contain errors.

5. Not professional, pastoral or medical advice

Bibler is for personal devotion and general education. It is not a substitute for a pastor, church community, counsellor, doctor or other qualified professional, and it is not medical, mental-health, legal or financial advice. Content about feelings such as anxiety, grief or loneliness is offered for encouragement only. If you are in crisis or thinking about harming yourself, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line right away (in the US, call or text 988).

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to: copy, modify, distribute, sell or rent the App or its original content; reverse engineer or attempt to extract the App's source code or content, except where the law allows; bypass or interfere with the App's subscription or security features; use the App to build a competing product; or use the App in any unlawful way.

7. Your content

Journal entries, prayers, notes and reflections you write in Bibler stay on your device and remain yours. You are responsible for what you create and how you use it. When you share a verse or other content from Bibler, you choose where it goes and are responsible for what you post.

8. Ownership

Bibler, including its software, design, original text, lessons, journeys, scenarios, artwork and branding, is owned by DEOX or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. Public-domain Bible text remains in the public domain. Except for the license in section 1, these Terms do not give you any rights to Bibler.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information and is part of these Terms.

10. Changes and availability

We may update, change or discontinue Bibler or any part of it, and we may update these Terms. If we make material changes to the Terms, we will update the effective date and let you know in the App. If you continue using Bibler after changes take effect, you accept the updated Terms.

11. Disclaimer

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Bibler is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that its content is complete, accurate or up to date.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, DEOX will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue or data, arising from your use of Bibler. Our total liability for any claim relating to Bibler is limited to the amount you paid for Bibler in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived or limited under the law that applies to you.

13. Termination

You can stop using Bibler at any time by cancelling any subscription, erasing your data and deleting the App. We may suspend or end your license if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms. Sections 4, 5, 8, 11, 12 and 14 survive termination.

14. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules, except where the law of your country of residence gives you mandatory consumer protections.

15. Apple App Store additional terms

If you downloaded Bibler from Apple's App Store:

  • These Terms are between you and DEOX only, not Apple. DEOX, not Apple, is solely responsible for Bibler and its content.

  • Your license is limited to using Bibler on Apple-branded products you own or control, as permitted by the Usage Rules in the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.

  • Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Bibler.

  • If Bibler fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation regarding Bibler.

  • DEOX, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims relating to Bibler or your use of it, including product-liability claims, claims that Bibler fails to meet legal or regulatory requirements, and consumer-protection, privacy or similar claims.

  • If a third party claims that Bibler or your use of it infringes their intellectual-property rights, DEOX, not Apple, is responsible for investigating, defending, settling and discharging that claim.

  • You confirm that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.

  • You must comply with any applicable third-party terms when using Bibler.

  • Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.

16. Google Play

If you downloaded Bibler from Google Play, your purchases are also subject to the Google Play Terms of Service.
